DeWalt cordless tool deals are stacking up across Lowe’s and Amazon right now, with discounts of up to 50% as the two retailers compete for the same pre-autumn shopping window. If you’ve been putting off a tool refresh, this is a reasonable moment to stop putting it off.
Lowe’s kicked things off to coincide with Amazon’s October Prime Day event, running 6-7 October, pulling in its own counter-sale on Lowe’s. Amazon has since responded with its own batch of DeWalt cordless tool deals, meaning there’s now genuine competition for your money, which is not always the case with tool sales.
What’s on Sale at Lowe’s Right Now
The headline offer at Lowe’s is the DeWalt 20-volt drill and driver set, down to $179, a 25% reduction on its regular price. The kit includes a 20-volt drill, an impact driver, two 1.5-amp-hour batteries, a charger, and a tool bag. It’s the kind of bundle that covers the basics for most DIY jobs, from hanging shelves to sorting door hinges.
The cordless miter saw range is also discounted. The DeWalt 20-volt 12-inch double bevel compound miter saw is at $678, down 25%, and comes with an 8-amp-hour battery, though you’ll need your own 20-volt DeWalt charger to run it. If you already have a compatible charger and battery system, the saw on its own comes in at $499, also 25% off. Saw blades are on a buy-one-get-one deal as well, covering 40-tooth and 80-tooth 12-inch options, add the saw to your cart and the free blades should appear.
On the smaller end, the DeWalt 12-volt powered ratchet and the DeWalt 12-volt cordless quarter-inch drive impact wrench are both at $99, each 50% off their regular price. Both are tool-only deals, so a 12-volt DeWalt battery and charger are required. The powered ratchet is particularly useful in confined spaces where you can’t rotate a handle manually.
Battery deals are also in the mix. A two-pack of DeWalt 20-volt 6-amp-hour batteries is listed at $179, 35% off the usual price. A DeWalt 5-amp-hour 12-volt battery is at $79, 38% off.
DeWalt Cordless Tool Deals Over at Amazon
Amazon’s side of the competition is worth checking before you commit. According to Popular Mechanics, the DeWalt 20V Cordless Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit is down to $149, a 38% saving from its $239 list price. That’s a different kit configuration from the Lowe’s bundle, and it undercuts it by $30, so it’s worth comparing what’s actually included before deciding.
Popular Mechanics also flags the DeWalt 20V XR 5-Inch Brushless Cordless Orbital Sander at $96, down 46% from $179. That’s one of the sharper percentage cuts across both sales and covers a tool not discounted at Lowe’s at all. The DeWalt 20V 6-1/2-Inch Circular Saw is at $99, 38% off its usual $159, again via Amazon, and again something the Lowe’s sale doesn’t include.
The overlap between the two sales is limited enough that checking both makes sense rather than assuming one is comprehensively better. The DeWalt 20-volt platform is consistent across both retailers, so batteries and chargers bought in one place will work with tools bought in the other.
A note on the miter saw: the report mentions that DeWalt’s cordless miter saws use technology that captures energy from braking to help recharge the battery, which is a practical advantage if you’re doing sustained cutting work where recharging mid-job would otherwise be an issue.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days run 6-7 October, so the window on these prices is a short one. The Lowe’s sale appears to be running concurrently to match it, but specific end dates for individual Lowe’s offers are not confirmed in the available information.
