easyJet has continued its strong growth trajectory in Manchester, operating its largest-ever flying programme from the airport in FY25 — adding more than 300,000 seats year-on-year and carrying over 7 million passengers.
The announcement comes as the airline reports 9% earnings growth for FY25, delivering a headline profit before tax of £665 million.
easyJet holidays saw particularly strong demand from Manchester travellers, with beach packages to mainland Spain — especially Costa Blanca — and trips to Tenerife and Dalaman topping the list of favourites. For city breaks, Amsterdam, Paris and Prague proved most popular.
The airline has now confirmed further expansion at its Manchester base, with a 24th A320 family aircraft joining the fleet next summer. This investment will support around 400 direct and indirect jobs and contribute approximately £27m in UK gross value added (GVA).
As part of its continually expanding network, easyJet will launch two new routes to Montpellier and Preveza next summer, taking the total number of destinations served from Manchester to 87.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet UK Country Manager, said:
“Our success in the north-west is a clear testament to the continued popularity of our flights and holidays, with a record 7 million customers choosing to fly with us in the last year for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.
“The growth of our fleet with an additional aircraft in Manchester next summer will not only support around 400 jobs but is enabling us to further unlock the opportunity of the demand that we see for both leisure and business travel.
“We are already capturing this opportunity with the launch of two new routes next summer, offering customers greater choice, exceptional value across our unrivalled short-haul network and, in our 30th year, still always aiming to make travel easy.”
Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, said:
“We are proud to connect the people of the North with more destinations than any other UK airport in the country outside London, so it’s fantastic to see easyJet expanding its route network from Manchester next summer with new destinations and extra aircraft.”
In FY25, easyJet launched 11 new routes from Manchester, including services to Djerba, Zurich, Izmir, Kalamata, Larnaca, Madrid, Rennes, Milan Linate, Tromsø and Oslo. The airline will now connect customers in the North-West with 87 routes across the UK, Europe and North Africa.
With the easyJet holidays summer 2026 season now on sale, customers can book beach holidays and city escapes through to the end of October 2026.
