The Jisoo Salomon winter campaign has arrived, with Blackpink singer and Salomon global ambassador Jisoo fronting the brand’s fall/winter 2026 collection, titled ‘In the Open’, shot on location in South Korea.
If you’ve been spotting Salomons on every other pair of feet in town lately, you’re not imagining it. What started out as technical footwear built for the trail has spent the last few years quietly colonising city pavements, and this campaign is very much part of that ongoing negotiation between outdoors performance and everyday wear.
What the Jisoo Salomon winter campaign actually contains
The ‘In the Open’ capsule centres on three silhouettes: the XT-6 Protective, the XT-Whisper Gore-Tex, and the XT-4 OG Gore-Tex. All three are built for winter conditions without asking you to look like you’ve just descended from a Scottish munro. The campaign imagery places Jisoo where urban and outdoor life literally overlap, a wild, grassy landscape set against a hazy city skyline, which does a decent job of making the point without having to spell it out.
According to Design Scene, Creative Director Heikki Salonen describes ‘In the Open’ as an exploration of how people encounter winter across everyday settings, from city streets to outdoor spaces. That framing gives the campaign a coherent logic: it is not about extreme adventure, it is about the ordinary morning when the weather turns and you still need to get somewhere.
Jisoo’s own take fits that same mood. ‘I naturally prefer light and comfortable movement in my everyday life, so I feel that Salomon is a great fit for me because it provides comfort regardless of the weather or environment,’ she says. ‘I love how versatile Salomon footwear is, making it suitable for both everyday wear and outdoor activities.’
How the ambassador partnership came together
This is Jisoo’s first global campaign for the brand since her appointment as Salomon global ambassador. As Hypebeast reports, that appointment took place in May, meaning the ‘In the Open’ campaign is the first real-world output of the partnership. It is a pairing that makes a certain kind of sense: Salomon’s design DNA is rooted in performance, but the brand has been threading that into fashion spaces for a while now, and Jisoo’s profile sits comfortably across both.
Seoul, where the campaign was shot, is fitting ground for her. She recently told Interview magazine that being back in the city tends to be a low-key affair. ‘I like going to good restaurants, finding little cafés, or just going around and listening to music. Sometimes doing nothing is actually my favorite thing to do,’ she said. That quieter side of Seoul, the wandering, the cafés, the unhurried pace, sits naturally alongside a campaign about everyday movement rather than performance spectacle.
It also reflects something in Salomon’s current positioning. The brand is not trying to sell you a mountain. It is trying to sell you the walk to the corner shop on a grey November morning when the pavements are damp and you still want your footwear to look considered. Whether you’re in the market for Gore-Tex or simply curious what the fuss is about, the three silhouettes in this drop represent the cleaner end of that proposition.
The Salomon fall/winter 2026 ‘In the Open’ capsule launches globally on 7 October at Salomon.
