Through a Material Intelligence approach, industry professionals at Cersaie 2026 were shown the latest innovations and The Code concept by VitrA Tiles.
Bologna, Italy: At the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings Cersaie 2026, held in Bologna, Italy from 21 to 25 September, architects, designers, customers and industry professionals were welcomed by VitrA Tiles. With the Material Intelligence concept as the foundation of its stand, the brand put on display its 2027 collections and innovations.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” Such a statement sits at the heart of the design philosophy behind VitrA Tiles, which brings research, advanced technology and design know-how together to give fresh meaning to materials found in nature. Building on what nature offers in aesthetic and technical terms, these materials are turned into original surfaces that bring new inspiration to contemporary architecture.

A Trio of Design Languages
Expressed through The Code concept are three design languages, giving rise to the Resincode, Geocode and Metacode collections that Cersaie visitors can explore on the stand of VitrA Tiles.
Taking its cue from the porous, mineral-rich feel of natural concrete, with its organic transitions and layered surface effects, contemporary interiors are given a minimalist, balanced and refined surface look by Resincode. Inspired by marble, gneiss, quartzite and Spanish limestone, a contemporary interpretation of the varied geological legacy of natural stone is carried onto ceramic surfaces by Geocode, which comes in four distinct surface typologies known as Alba, Imperio, Rio and Merano. Combining an industrial character with refinement, the gentle tonal shifts and soft reflections of patinated metal are brought to ceramic surfaces by Metacode, offered across three distinct finishes in tones of gold, iron and copper.

Innovative Technologies on Show
Alongside the new collections, the V-Flex and V-Tone innovations were also presented at Cersaie 2026 by VitrA Tiles.
Requiring no adhesives, V-Flex is a tile installation solution driven by the Ceraloc® locking technology from Välinge. Special side profiles allow the tiles to be joined mechanically, and in contrast to conventional bonded tile applications, installation up to five times faster is promised by the system. Accurate alignment, uniform grout lines and a neat, professional finish are all supported. When required, single tiles can be lifted out and swapped, a significant advantage that makes maintenance and repair work simpler. A further benefit on offer is acoustic comfort. Recommended settings for V-Flex include offices, hotels, showrooms, retail stores, store chains, commercial spaces and educational facilities.

Addressing tonal variation in ceramic production, consistency of colour and design integrity are preserved over different surfaces by V-Tone. Work continues on bringing V-Tone technology into the production lines of VitrA Tiles.
