Burton, who has been at the helm of Givenchy since 2024 and made her official debut there in 2025, created the ensemble for the opening night of what Vogue describes as a 26-night Paris residency, Dion’s first full concerts in more than six years. Dion addressed the crowd directly at several points during the evening. ‘I made a promise to be back on stage,’ she said. ‘So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing live! Thank you so very much for your support, your patience, and if I may say so, I am everything I am because you loved me.’
Toward the end of the night, she turned reflective. According to Variety, she told the audience: ‘Look around here. All around you…we don’t know what the person next to us is going through. There are people going through hardships, grief, and sorrow. There are people radiating energy and joy. So let’s take that energy and share it. That’s what music is for. Tonight, we’ll sing, we’ll dance, and we’ll celebrate.’

Saturday was the first of 26 scheduled performances in Paris, with the residency running through October. A further series of shows is already scheduled for 2027, meaning the Celine Dion Paris comeback is not a one-night event but the start of an extended chapter.
