If you’re hunting for shows to watch after Reacher, you’re not alone. TV Guide, citing Nielsen data, reported that Reacher was the most-streamed show of any kind in early March 2025. Season 4, which adapts the novel Gone Tomorrow, premiered on 12 August 2026 after a 17-month wait since season 3 concluded, according to Entertainment Weekly. The eight-episode run wraps with the finale, ‘Cut’, on 16 September 2026. So if you’ve already burned through it and you’re staring at your screen looking for the next thing, here are ten series that scratch a similar itch.
Shows to Watch After Reacher: Action, Loners and Morally Grey Types
Based on Lee Child’s series of more than 30 novels, Reacher has been a breakout hit for Prime Video, renewed through at least a fifth season with a spin-off, Neagley (starring Maria Sten), on the way. The appeal is obvious enough: Alan Ritchson fits the role physically, the plotting moves along without the show disappearing up its own mythology, and there is something genuinely satisfying about a man who asks very little and delivers very much. None of the shows below replicate that exactly, but they are all perfectly capable of filling the gap.
The Night Agent (2023 –)
Gabriel Basso plays Peter Sutherland, an FBI agent working overnights in the White House basement watching a phone that never rings. Until it does. A call from a cybersecurity expert whose aunt and uncle have just been killed pulls him deep into a web of conspiracy and official corruption. Spy-thriller energy, decent pacing. Stream it on Netflix.
Cross (2024 –)
There are roughly three dozen Alex Cross novels to draw from, so this one isn’t going anywhere. Aldis Hodge plays the D.C.-based homicide detective and forensic psychologist. What sets it apart from Reacher’s solitary wandering is Cross’s deep commitment to his family, which raises the stakes rather than softening them: his investigations keep threatening to pull his kids in. Stream it on Prime Video and Paramount+.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (2018 – 2023)
John Krasinski as a CIA analyst dragged from his desk and into the field. The series has ended, but a film, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, continues it. Four seasons of a character in near-constant mortal danger is a reasonable way to spend a fortnight. Stream it on Prime Video.
The Equalizer (2021 – 2025)
Queen Latifah plays Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative who uses her skills to help people failed by the systems that were supposed to protect them. Part crime drama, part spy thriller, part something else entirely. Runs five seasons. Stream it on Paramount+ and Tubi.
Hap and Leonard (2016 – 2018)
Based on Joe R. Lansdale’s novels, this is a genre blend: heist show, crime drama and buddy comedy set in the swamps near Baton Rouge in the 1980s. James Purefoy is Hap, a blue-collar ex-con trying to live quietly. The late Michael Kenneth Williams is Leonard, an openly gay vet with serious anger management issues. When Hap’s ex-wife turns up with a scheme to recover $15 million in lost bank-heist proceeds, things deteriorate rapidly and entertainingly. Stream it on AMC+.
More Solid Options When You’re Done With Reacher
The Night Manager (2016 –)
From a John le Carré novel, with Tom Hiddleston as a hotel night manager persuaded by a Foreign Office operative (Olivia Colman) to infiltrate the organisation of arms dealer Richard Roper, played by Hugh Laurie. The second season took about a decade to arrive; a third is expected sooner. Stream it on Prime Video.
Bosch (2014 – 2021)
Titus Welliver as LAPD detective Harry Bosch, based on Michael Connelly’s novels. It is a more traditional crime drama, though one with neo-noir ambitions. Like Reacher, Bosch draws on military training and routinely exceeds the limits of what he should technically be doing. Stream it on Prime Video.
Banshee (2013 – 2016)
Antony Starr plays a man recently released from prison who takes on the identity of a newly killed sheriff in the small town of Banshee. The long game involves recovering $15 million in diamonds. The short game involves dispensing brutal justice while absolutely not giving up his criminal ways. Smart plotting, liberal amounts of sex and violence. Stream it on HBO Max.
Luther (2010 – 2019)
Idris Elba as DCI John Luther, a crime-solving genius whose investigations into some genuinely dark material take an increasing personal toll. Ruth Wilson is Alice Morgan, a murderer he cannot bring to justice who becomes an unlikely ally. The series is finished, but a second spin-off film is in the works following The Fallen Sun. Stream it on Hulu.
Tracker (2024 –)
Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who travels the country in an RV finding missing persons for money. Based on a novel series by Jeffery Deaver. Shaw has a support team (lawyer, handler, computer person), but he is very much the one doing the actual finding. Stream it on Paramount+.
Season 4 of Reacher closes out on 16 September 2026 with the finale ‘Cut’, so if you’re reading this mid-binge, you’ve got a week or two to pick your next one.
