Romania’s planned international airport, located close to Bucharest, is preparing to embrace digital asset payments, with Miracle Pay being considered for official integration, subject to concession approval and compliance with regulatory requirements.
MetaTerra Holdings, the parent organisation behind the Miracle ecosystem, announced it has opened formal talks with Jetstream, the investment consortium seeking to design, finance, and operate the new airport. The initiative aims to enable Miracle Pay as an approved payment option for participating airport merchants — including duty-free stores, dining and beverage outlets, parking facilities, lounges, and retail spaces — pending the success of Jetstream’s bid and all relevant authorisations.
Under a joint scoping process shortly underway, the parties are expected to begin evaluating POS integrations, real-time crypto-to-fiat settlement, AML – KYC, and consumer protection requirements. A phased pilot followed by go-live would be subject to regulatory approvals and final commercial agreements.
